PROVE DOUBTERS WRONG

The Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has said that he is extremely keen on proving his doubters wrong this season. The 26-year-old midfielder has suffered a number of injury problems during his long spell with Arsenal, which have limited his ability to maximise his importance with the team. Arsene Wenger has always had the faith in the 26 year old French midfielder, which has meant that he has remained at Arsenal all these years. Last season was one of the worst for the French midfielder after he missed almost the entire season. He made only three appearances in total throughout the last season.

Abou Diaby has said that there has been a lot of time when he has been extremely depressed with the amount of injuries he has suffered in his Arsenal career. However, he is hoping that the next few years will certainly be as he hopes – without any injuries. Diaby has been one of the impressive players for Arsenal in the fast few matches of the new Premier league season. Arsenal recently got their first win of the season against Liverpool. The 2-0 win and showed the best qualities of Abou Diaby, who was once likened to Patrick Viera.

“I had some very difficult moments, some days when I was depressed when it was tough, but even then, I always kept faith. I always told myself that some people were in a worse position than me. I am 26 and I am aware that I am at a key moment in my career, that is why it was so important that I came back this season. Now, I am careful about every detail, I leave nothing to chance. I am much more mature. I also had a full pre-season for the first time in ages,” said the 26 year old in a recent interview.

ANDERSON SIGNS FOR BRISTOL

The former player of Nottingham Forest, Paul Anderson has signed for Bristol City.  The winger has signed for City on a contract of 2 years. The manager of Bristol City, Derek Mcllnes, has confirmed the signing of Anderson. Anderson’s contract with Nottingham had expired at the end of the last season and the club decided not to extend the contract of the winger. So, he was a free agent. Mcllnes looked delighted after signing the Englishman. He said that Anderson has got incredible talent and he wants to make his mark at the big stage. He is still pretty young and he is a very good buy for the club.

Anderson had been playing for Nottingham Forest since the last 3 years. He was signed by Nottingham in June 2009.  Nottingham had bought him from Liverpool after paying a transfer fee of 250,000 pounds. In the first two seasons, he was given regular playing chances, but, in the last season, he spent most of the time sitting on the bench. He featured in only 19 matches in the last season. The club decided to release him at the end of the 2011-12 season. After signing for Bristol City, Anderson said that he is happy to sign for one of the oldest English clubs and he is looking forward to playing for the club in the upcoming season. On being asked about his poor performance in the last season, Anderson said that he was not at his best in the last season, but, at the same time, he also said that he should have been given the opportunity to play in a few more games. As per Anderson, sitting on the bench frustrates a player at times and that’s what happened with him in the last season.
