In any sport you play to your strengths in order to win, that’s all you can do. Chelsea, because of their aging squad & no wingers, had to play on the counter and it worked. You set up your tactics according to the opposition, play to their weaknesses. Barcas weakness = defensively, they are pushed so high up the pitch they are vulnerable to counter attacks.. simple

Chelsea finished 6th*. I don’t see any reason for Chelsea fans to be butthurt seeing as they won 2 major trophies. As for the league position, the only reason to be in the top 4 teams of the BPL, other than winning it of course, is to play in the Champions League, and Chelsea are in the CL next season. Because of their win they have now signed some amazing sought after talent; the Hazard brothers, Marin and Oscar and don’t rule out a new RB and striker coming in before the start of the season.
The Chelsea squad was full of old players past their best (finished 6th), no natural wingers and an out of form striker and an old striker who has lost his pace, PLUS the injuries at the time. Half of the game of football is defending… It is an extremely important skill. Chelsea simply played to their strengths tactically and won, you didn’t see Barcelona playing high balls because that is their weakness, they played to their strength which is short passing.
